– A personal letter from Vincent Noel Ducut, founder and managing partner of JobPinoy.com to job seekers and employers
Welcome to JobPinoy!
2 years ago, my team and I created a job search engine platform that caters to Filipino job seekers and employers. It is designed to empower employers in need of job ad posting, video advertisements, and lead services. While for job seekers, aside from the usual resume/cv upload they are given video cover upload as an additional tool to achieve that first impression.
The first week was amazing, we started to get traction on our website. Employers inviting me for a presentation and even suggesting what they would like to have to make their platform experience efficient and effective. Job seekers started to fill the pipeline and upload their video covers. It was a great experience for someone like me with a small start-up company.
Now, the struggle…
Then, the pandemic happened. It was so sudden and unexpected. Like all other businesses, we had to stop our operations. That means closing the platform for Filipinos looking for a job.
With the situation worsening, COVID-19 infected rate going up, and the lockdown, Jobpinoy.com stood in shock.
My team and I were devastated. All our best effort, money, time, and sweat turned into dust. Months passed until our dear partners decided to focus on other things. They, too, have to find ways to survive. Thus, I was left with nothing but a platform.
Working Hand in Hand
I browsed various social media channels, and I realized how many Filipinos are still trying their best to find work. Freelance recruiters and agencies are still working and doing their best with much determination. The Filipino resiliency indeed.
It made me question myself what am I doing? Why am I just reading this, when I can help? Seeing the current situation fueled me up, that I decided to reopen Jobpinoy.com.
Ladies and gentlemen, we’re now back in the business.
The economy may be down due to businesses shutting down and both the unemployment and underemployment rate increases. However, we must focus on our strengths and opportunities.
Strengths; because Filipinos are amazingly talented and skillful. They are determined despite the circumstances.
Opportunities; because every pandemic in our history is followed by the renaissance and progress.
Jobseekers and businesses need all the help that they can get. It may take some time before all will be back to normal or not, but we cannot just sit and wait. We must do our part and help the economy in ways we can or have.
Our Doors are Open – A Free Invitation!
Jobpinoy.com is providing free services for all employers and recruitment companies. We aim to encourage all employers and recruitment companies to post as many jobs as they can to rejuvenate Filipino professionals. Providing employment to the Filipino workforce means a lot and is what we need right now.
This, too, shall pass. Let’s all find ways to help one another, find our own little space on that economy wheel and push and get through this together.
